We will rename our club Adelaide United Whites and see if we can book Hindmarsh.
I know no one will be happy at the minute, what with the rain and cancelled games etc

But damn, Joe, that's made me laugh has that :)

Re: Respect

And at least somebody owned up to reading it, yak ;) I thought four things: 1. Now, for the $50 an hour they pay, they expect refs to go confront hostile home/away crowds 2. I can't remember ever having a technical area ... at any ground last season (2012)? I certainly wouldn't have stayed standing ...

Respect

With all the kerfuffle, here and elsewhere, about refs, abuse and - going by Dino's email of Friday/Saturday - the banning orders on a few CSL players ... I was pointed at this FFSA "Directive" (via the AHJSA website - kiddie soccer up in The Hills) which follows on from last season's FFA ...

Re: What happened to refs this weekend?

I am confident that next year a few of the guys from the CSL pool of Refs will maybe do referring only. However what you mentioned in regards to trading places with the SAASL refs on weekends would work. SAASL refs get $100 for an A game. $80 for a B game. That is my understaning. Could be even a b...

Re: Saturday Games and mid year Thoughts on teams in 1A And

Cruie, first of all, I agree that our expectations are probably a little high at times. Having said that, there is a difference between having a referee who is doing his best and gets the occasional call wrong. These refs are, 99% of the time, treated with the respect they deserve and having refere...

Re: Saturday Games and mid year Thoughts on teams in 1A And

I've put this before, elsewhere, but I'll type it out again ... I think one of the biggest issues with the fuss over refs (who turn up) is the expectation people have about their abilities (and what their abilities should be). I'm rubbish at playing football. If I wasn't rubbish, I'd be getting paid...

Re: What happened to refs this weekend?

Are SAASL refs getting more than $75 a game now, then? (I have no idea, but I'm surprised it has increased that much, if it has) I very much doubt it will be any more than $5 a game more ... and if so - and if that is a reason - I would imagine most CSL clubs would agree to sort it out? ($50 increas...

Re: What happened to refs this weekend?

... NO ONE WANTS TO BE A REFEREE AND WASTE THEIR TIME ON A SATURDAY GETTING ABUSED. ... Yup. (And there's no point whining about refund of FFSA Affiliation Fees - whatever they might be!? - you pay for the refs seperately, each match, not as part of the club/team/player registration fees ... though...

Re: Referees That Don't Turn Up

Disclaimer: It's all bu**er all to do with me anymore, I was replaced at the club at the end of last season. And so this is not to be taken as coming from my former club (just in case you know who that is). Good post Chelski (and follow up, Ross), good to see a few take a different line than all the...
