I'm still waiting to receive a copy of the cup draw too!

League fixtures are normally only released at the season launch.

Someone has them as a number of 'fixtures' for round 1 are floating around at the moment unofficially :(
1 weeks notice to book a pitch can be a little tight

Bit frustrating that some clubs div 5 teams have been ommited from the cup this year, must be some merit in giving the 'bigger' or higher grade teams a bye instead of this? Something for next year maybe.

I agree stdanjo.. Div 5 pay the same fee's., club rego and the like as any other team....... Wouldn't be hard to work out a system where 1A teams join in the second round or something?
Also, Whats with all these Friday night games for the first round of the cup? Its a Saturday comp and most teams are set up for Saturdays...... no problem if its pre agreed and clubs want to play under lights etc but 9pm on a Friday night??? Give me a break :(

Hey Squeezy, agree that 9pm seems to be getting a bit late, but at the AGM clubs had the option of opting in or out of Friday night matches.

Great time to play a cup game. Hope it doesn't go to extra time and penalties.....

Leave home at 7.15pm to travel to the ground. Game finishes at midnight after ET & Pens. Changed, then home for 1am. Nice.

Why Friday night - that's Adelaide United last home game.

The Friday night games are necessary in most cases because numerous clubs' home grounds are unavailable in the first round of the cup.

In terms of some teams not being included in the cup, we have 69 teams and to lower the number the bottom team from each club with 5 or 6 teams was omitted. There are mixed views on this, but some div 5 teams are happy not to be in the cup. Drawing a 1A team, as Westminster div 5's have done, would be no fun at all for them.

If people have actually thought through better ideas for the cup format that would work, feel free to suggest them ahead of next season.
