Group A

Uni White 1 A - top of 1A league
Unley 1 A - 3rd in 1A league
Grads Red 1 A - Defending Cup holders
Pembroke 1 A - Defending A1 League champions

Group B

Sacred Heart 1 A
Mt Barker 1 A
CBC 2 A
Rostrevor 1 B

6 x 1A teams left in the cup. The draw will play a great part in who moves forward. Group A will want to draw a team from Group B.

I think this is one of the strongest last 8 for quite sometime. Would have to go through the records to double check. But 6 x 1A teams is strong.

Had a look through the record books off the CSL site.

The last time there were 6 teams from 1A in the 1/4 finals was back in 2009. 2004 before that.

Every 5 years is the pattern.

2006 cup was interesting. These were the semi final lineups and results.

Rostrevor 1A v Pembroke 1B - Rostrevor won 3-0

Rostrevor 1B v Pembroke 1A - Pembroke won 3-0

Could have been the 1st time that a cup final was played with 2 teams from 1 club. It didnt happen and Pembroke won the final 2-0.

Do we know when the draw will take place?

The Group A teams will definitley have fingers crossed for a Group C team but really don't want a Group B team and DEFINITLEY dont want a fellow Group A team!
A very exciting draw with a tough last eight with just enough of an easy route available to one of the top 4 teams!

Chelsea - I played in that 2006 Cup Semifinal for Pembroke 1B, if I remember correctly we held out for about 60 minutes before conceding the first goal, then the next two followed in succession. We had a shot that looked like it was going in deflected off the post and along the goal-line in the first half which would have made for a very different game from that point if it had gone in.

Both clubs had very strong outfits to make it to the semis with two squads, I think both B's squads made the opposing A squads fight hard for their semifinal wins.

Mid week I was told by the league.

Cup draw will be made Friday 20th June at approx 130pm.

Full draw will be emailed to delegates that night.

Full draw will appear on the forum that afternoon.
