Catch Up Games - Any Confirmed?

Post by chelsea »

What are the clubs doing that have catch up games?

There are some important games that should be played ASAP.

Some others might not need to be played as it wont effect the top of the ladder placing.

Can clubs that are playing catch up games give us an update.

1A - Regency v Uni White
1A - Regency v Sacred Heart - DC Hearing to detremine result.

1B - Uni White v Uni SA

2A/B - Pulteney v Mt Barker - 22nd June Fixture - 2 months ago
2A/B - Mt Barker v CBC

2B - Grads Blue v Pembroke

3 - Uni White v Sacred Heart
3 - Sacred Heart v Uni White - 20th July fixture - 1 month ago
3 - Unley v Mt Barker - 22nd June Fixture - 2 months ago.

4 - Unley v Mt Barker - 22nd June Fixture - 2 months ago
4 - Uni White v Pulteney
4 - UniSA v Mt Barker - 20th July Fixture - 1 month ago

5 - Unley v Mt Barker - 22nd June Fixture - 2 months ago
5 - Grads Red v PAOC

I think next year the league need to have a look at this and try to improve it. It has been a wet year which has made it hard for all games to go ahead but I dont think clubs try hard enough to get their catch up games out the way. Or they do try but cant agree with the other club. Or because they are towards the bottom of the table of a division they dont care.

Uni White:
- Div 1A: Have emailed Regency - waiting for a reply.
- Div 3: In discussion with SHOC I believe.
That's it!

I hope no more games are added to the list this week. Very wet and the rain will continue to Saturday. I beleive some clubs have already moved their fixtures to West Beach. I heard, but its not confirmed that Mercedes v Pembroke is heading to West Beach.

The four Mercedes v Pembroke games this Saturday are being played at West Beach.

The division 2B Grads Blue v Pembroke game is scheduled to be played at 8:45pm tomorrow night at SAWSA Park.

2a/2b Pultney v Mt Barker

Thursday 29th August, at Burton (simulataneous KOs ... can't remember KO time though)

(At least I believe this is finally confirmed)

Hopefully the rain stays away from late this avvo; should give some pitches a little bit of drying time before the weekend.

At least these 2 clubs have tried. Bit of bad luck to have 3 wash outs for the same fixtures.

Hopefully Players didnt have to drive up to Mt Barker and the call was made early.

I know a month ago when Mt Barker came down to SAWSA Park they then had the referee tell them the pitches are no good to play on.

Nightmare for Mt Barker. So many catchup games. That is why its best just to get them out the way straight away becuase you never know what is ahead of you.

If only people were willing to make a decision early about their pitches and whether they would be waterlogged or not (How hard is it?).. There has only ever in the history of man kind been a game called off at Mt Barker (Cornerstone) and that was because the rain was coming in horizontally. Nothing more annoying than coming down from Mt Barker to a pitch that has been clearly waterlogged for more than 2 days whereas Cornerstone sits there idly in perfect condition. I refer to a weekend game, not a midweek game as that poses additional difficulties.

Yes, Cornerstone is the best venue in the CSL. Les Burdett's finest work.
