Round 7 - 1A / 2A - Top 4 games.

Post by chelsea »

Both Uni White and Unley are expected to win this week against the bottom 2 clubs. If the bottom 2 clubs can get a draw that will be a good result against these 2 teams.

The other 6 teams are playing to stay in the title race but have tough opposition this week.

Mt Barker v Rostrevor

Rostrevor last 3 games in League & Cup read LLD
Mt Barker last 3 games in League & Cup read WWW

Clearly Mt Barker are in form. It will be a tough game. Draw - 2-2

Pembroke v Grads Red

Pembroke last 3 games in League & Cup read WDD - The win was after extra time though.
Grads Red last 3 games in League & Cup read WWL

Grads Red to get the points. They will want revenge after the Suoper cup. 3-1 to Grads Red.

Sacred Heart v Mercedes

SHOC last 3 games in League & Cup read WWD
Mercedes last 3 games in League & Cup read LDW

SHOC beat Mercedes B in the cup last week and this week need to beat the Mercedes A team.
Who ever does not get 3 points this week then they can enjoy the world cup and look forward to 2015.
SHOC will win 4-1

The biggest game of the week is in 2A.

Norwood v Windsor Gardens.

Both sitting equal top.

6 wins a piece. Windsor just in front with a 3+ goal difference. Both teams have scored the same amount of goals. 28 goals so far. Nearly 5 goals per game on average.

I dont expect a 5-5 draw here though. The game will be tight but played on a big pitch which will most likley suit the home team.

Norwood to win 2-1

Good over view here Chelsea.

I think Mt.Barker have found some form and will settle into 1A. Rostrevor, however are experienced and may bounce back well. After all, it is 2nd v 7th.

Sacred struggled against Merc B last week but I do feel that the B team is better the the A team at Merc.
S.H will draw here.

What space is Regency in. Will they bounce back of has their squad already collapsed. Do they want to get relegated or not...???

Pembroke are better then Grads Red.. 2-0 win here.

Norwood who will be in Div 1 next year will put on a good show against the old fellas. Who ever is composed and takes their chances, will win. Windsor!

Did Elvis and the Beatles play for Regency today? Sadly any good win they have will be under a cloud of suspicion from now on.

Another topsy turvy season in 1A. Practically any team can beat anyone else on their day. Gone are the days of the odd easy game to boost goal difference.

Hopefully Elvis has left the building!

Having watched 9 of the 1A teams already this season (between league and cup), there are no stand outs except Uni Whites... The other 7 are all within metres of each other with ther only exception being Immanuel who unfortunatley are the odd ones out.
Grads Red - Up and down
Regency - Great one minute and average the next
Mercedes - A new squad, very young and a season required to rebuild
Pembroke - Not the 1A champion team of last year
Unley - Solid but not unbeatable
Immanuel - 2A confirmed by Round 14 at latest
Uni Whites - Best team I had seen but the Regency result shows there is hope for the chasing ack
Mt Barker Slow start but 5 wins on the spin (league and cup). Slow starters last season in 2A also.
Rostrevor - A good team but missing qulaity in one or two key positions , they always fail to live up to their potential!

It will be the most open contest for years and the depth at each club will decide the championship as we get towards the half way mark and the usual injuries, suspensions and others stuff starts to chip away at each club. Uni Whites have the depth to keep ahead of the pack and are still my tipfor the title...
Unley / Rostrevor for the runners up spots with Pembroke in that mix
Relegation....... Any one from 5 and rounds 10 - 14 will decide if that pack drops to 2/3 or not!!
Immanuel are gone but anyone from Grads Red, Mercedes, Mt Barker, Sacred Heart or regency (They are only ever a game from impoding!!)....
Mt Barker would have been faves for a quick return but their recent form will / is putting some serious pressurre on clubs who would never have considered relegation as a threat!!
Bring on an exciting and nail biting mid season :)

Windsor won 1-0. Who knows when one of the clubs will update the result on the webpage.
