1A Championship - Half Way Mark

We have reached the half way mark of the championship and we still have 5 teams in the running for the championship. Many teams are taking points off each other which is keeping things close at the top.

The next 4 weeks will narrow it down to 3 contenders.

Sacred Heart are still in the running after a slow start to the season and sit 5 points from top.
They would just about need to win all their games to have a chance. If they win 8 games from the 9, they will finish on 39pts. Same amount of points that Pembroke had last year when they won the championship.
Tough next 4 weeks.
Next 4 weeks - Grads Red (A) / Rostrevor (A) / Regency (H) / Uni White (A)

The tables have turned for Uni White. One month ago after beating Rostrevor and sitting top undefeated they have since lost all their league games. They became the hunted and now sit in 4th, 4pts from the top.
They need maximum points in the next 4 games to have a chance.
Moderate next 4 weeks
Next 4 weeks - Mercedes (A) / Mt Barker (H) / Grads Red (A) - Basically a home game / Sacred Heart (H)

After a good start to the season Pembroke hit a bit of a wall by drawing 4 games in a row. All 1-1 as well.
They remain 4pts behind and hold the strongest defence with only 10 goals conceded. At this rate they are title contenders. They played 1 cup final last week against Uni White to stay in the running but they now need to back it up against Unley this week to stay in touch. Unley did beat them 3-2 at the start of the season so the return game should be just as close.
Moderate next 4 weeks.
Next 4 weeks - Unley (H) /Regency (A) / Immanuel (H) / Mt Barker (H)

The month of June was poor for Rostrevor. Knocked out of the cup to Grads Red 1A and only managed 1pt from 3 league games. Looks like July is looking better after winning on the weekend. Sitting in 2nd spot, 3pts behind the top with the highest goals scored and a very good goal difference which could help to decide the winner at the end of the year.
Moderate next 4 weeks
Next 4 weeks - Immanuel (H) / Sacred Heart (H) / Mercedes (A) / Regency (H)

Unley sit top at the half way mark. Sitting with 6W / 2D / 1L. One of my favourites to win it this year. They will now become the hunted starting with Pembroke this week. Only lost to Sacred Heart.
Moderate next 4 weeks
Next 4 weeks - Pembroke (A) / Grads Red (H) / Mt Barker (A) / Mercedes (A)

For this week all teams will be looking for Pembroke to get the 3pts against Unley and bring the ladder back to a crowded top 5 with 8 games left after this weekend. Exciting times ahead in 1A.

Not sure what has happened to Uni White, started very well and hard to beat. Now, they seem to get beat easily and with a 4-0 defeat to Mercedes, I feel, something has happened to them. Injuries, lost players etc..

Can anyone shine light on this big slump in form over the past few weeks....

If anyone knows, can you let us know too?

Regency was a shocker, and then had a couple of close hit outs with Unley & Pembroke. Mercedes was a bizarre match though - even game, except on the scoresheet. Conceded two goals early, and then a freak own goal to start the second half. 4th came late while we chased the game. We probably had more chances, but couldn't hit the side of a barn. Mercedes keeper also made a top save at 1-0 from point blank range...

Ah well, there's always the cup.

Big weekend of results in 1A. Just a shame Cornerstone was no good for the first time ever. I'm sure Regency will fancy a mid-week journey up the hill.

There would seem to be a clear top 2 now. Apart from Rostrevor, the chasing pack are arguably as much chance of ending up in a relegation battle now as they are of catching Unley. If us and Regency can keep picking up a few scalps then some of the big boys could get very nervous indeed. Unley keep winning tight games but everyone else is consistently dropping points.

Immanuel v Grads Red Grads Red by 3 or 4
Mercedes v Unley Close one with Unley on a poor run 1-1
Pembroke v Mt Barker Another close one 1-1
Rostrevor v Regency Eagles Rostrevor to carry on the pain for the poor travelling Eagles 3-1
Uni White v Sacred Heart Uni WHite all over the place and SHOCs to win a tight one 1-2

Last weekend saw Unley give Rostrevor some clean air at the top of the 1A Championship.... Its now Rostrevors to lose especially if the chasing pack don't keep up this weekend...
Bottom is looking interesting and its getting to a point where nearly all can take points off each other. Good win for Mt Barker against the early season front runners and another poor result for the Eagles means they are sliping quickly into the danger zone with a gap appearing on the table AND the Eagles travelling to the champions elect this Saturday.

yes so handy that unley has slipped up these last two weeks and Rostrevor have taken full advantage of that. Plenty of games to go and anything can happen.

Grads Red will pump Immanuel this week,
Unley I think will beat Mercedes in a close one to turn it around.
Im hoping Mt Barker can take points off of Pembroke
Eagles recently have been our bogey side but they have only won one game in the last 6 or 7 games and im hoping this continues.
And Scared Heart to take points off of Uni White.

Very interesting next couple of weeks though in the CSL.

How much do you love the CSL Katsouranis!!!
Basically I give up on tipping anyone can beat anyone on their day!
I would suggest nominating Rostrevor as potential winners is very premature, ROCSC have to play both Unley and Pembroke. I honestly think anyone from 1 - 4 on the table can win it, it will come down to the last day!!!

Sticking my neck right out there but....
Rostrevor have the championship in the bag after Unley continued their bad form and Pembroke droppping 2 points at the wekend.
At the other end.... Immanuel and Regency gone..... Regency minus Elvis have just lost the fight ovver the last month but 3 home games on the bounce might be their last roll of the dice... Grads Red, Mercedes and Uni Whites go to the that massive pitch up at Woodville and they need al 9 points to keep a foot in the door.
A midweek trip to Mt Barker with temps below zero and a last game away to Unley + 6 points defecit, poor goal difference and probably a few more points deducted for not loading the teams online...... A bridge Too Far

I still think it's way to early, ROCSC run home is really hard.
Unley away - Drew at home
Uni White away - Lost at home
Mt Barker home - Lost away
& if they fail to win those games then Pembroke and Greds Red...

Pembroke have a tough 3 games too
SHOC away - drew at home
Mercedes home - drew away
Grads away - drew home

Still think it wont be decided until the very last day.

Agree 100% Immanuel and Regency to go down. Mt B claimed a few big scalps which has / will helped them saty up this year.
