No one went to the media. One comment was made in a Facebook post and a journalist has then turned that into a story. The journalist sadly thinks that there's nothing to prevent him doing that if he doesn't name individuals in his story. The person who made the Facebook post asked the journalist not to publish his comments, but to no avail.

And so a precedent is set..... Facebook and social media used by gutless journo's to fill a space or push an agenda / flavour of the month.
Beware what you post.... and don't buy the Tiser as they don't report news any more - please don't use that comment in any press release
