Seems to be some movement of CSL select side - thinking about it there should be a chance to promote the CSL and test the skills of the whole CSL to that of FFSA and Country.

How does the CSl feel towards entering next year a CSL select side into the Fed Cup and take on the big guns, there is pelenty of talent out there and enough to show some skills to smash a few teams on the side and win some points for the CSL. Also then a build up for the State game or country game - training once a week plus club training , it would showcase the CSl.

Would most clubs be keen to start this ?

I can inform you that the CSL Select side will be assembled this season and I have had discussions with the FFSA - most recently today as to play a select Country XI - made up of players from the various FFSA regional associations such as Western Border, Riverland, Broken Hill, Port Lincoln.

Likely match venue would be at Burton in the first week of October and from this we hope to establish a State Amateur side to represent SA against potentially another interstate amateur side, i.e. WA or NSW and either team would travel to play a curtain raiser during the A league season.

There is a lot of road to travel before it all comes to fruition - yet stay tuned as the regional associations are keen for this to happen and so is the CSL.

Also a FA Cup style tournament is being planned by the FFA in season 2012 and beyond and this would be the prefect opportunity for the CSL Select or State Amateur team to compete in.

Any further developements on CSL SIde?

Good idea having a select side enter Fed Cup.

Current teams that enter Fed cup at there own costs have no support from the CSL and clubs and this needs to change otherwise its no point.

Hahaha. You can only laugh when someone that plays amatuer soccer in South Australia actually takes the time to belittle someone else for playing in a "sh!t" league. What a bunch of dreamers.

not sure if you ment SAASL , then id agree. As CSl would smash any Amatuer team in SAASL they could muster up - the level ive comapred the two at would be definately CSL -

and the good thing is they dont get paid ridiculous amounts of money for it and play for the love - SAASL are no match and the results prove it too CSL select - lol
